Dr. Achama Eluwa is a medical doctor with practical knowledge of the technicalities that affect the implementation of healthcare delivery strategies especially in low- and middle-income settings. Having worked at the nexus of public health and clinical governance across various Nigerian states to improve health outcomes, she went on to provide technical assistance to the Federal Ministry of Health as an employee of the Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation. She co-developed high-level policy documents and conducted formative research/pilot projects at the Federal, State and Community levels in Nigeria, while training and supervising hundreds of primary health care workers to improve the quality of care rendered to Nigerians and enhance the capacity of her country’s human resources for health.
From 2015 to 2020, she served as a Technical Adviser to Government stakeholders and gained recognition for her work in Public Service from The Future Africa Awards in 2019. Dr. Eluwa trained in Global Health at the University of Oxford as an ExxonMobil Scholar and has recently been elected Councillor at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Committee on Global Health.
